About SoulWork
SoulWork is located on the South side of Chicago IL in the historical Bronzeville community. We have been providing individual, family and group therapy to adolescents and adults who struggle with psychological and emotional disturbances for approximately 9 years.
How SoulWork Got Started
Our owner, LaSonda A. Wilkins-Hines, is an African American female with a Masters of Social Work degree. She obtained this degree in 2002 from Loyola University Chicago. She is currently licensed with the State of Illinois as a Clinical Social Worker.
LaSonda received most of her training in in-patient psychiatry at the University of Chicago Hospitals. She has also worked in child welfare as an adoption specialist and trained in medical and school social work.
LaSonda has volunteered with CASA and counseled survivors of sexual assault at the University of Chicago Hospital’s emergency room.
Throughout her education, training and experiences, LaSonda recognized a need to develop a mental health practice that integrates spirituality into the therapeutic process while effectively influencing healing through the psychological process. And out of this recognition, SoulWork was developed. SoulWork is where science and spirituality meets to promote and Influence a holistic well-being.
